IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO REPLACE AN OLD DPF FILTER WITH A USED ONE?
It is not recommended to replace a DPF filter with a used model because the purchase price for a used one will be significantly cheaper but the used DPF will have to be cleaned and re-calibrated before installation. A new one includes the purchase price, cleaning and recalibration. In addition, used parts carry only a 3-month warranty while a new DPF is OEM compatible, includes clamps and gaskets and comes with a 2-year warranty with unlimited mileage.
